The Rice Meal is an initiative local to the Maroondah area of Victoria, Australia.
Each year it holds an event that invites people to share a bowl of rice and a glass of water to raise awareness and funds for those less fortunate. During the event attendees are entertained and informed by people from a local and international perspective.
A meal with friends in person or online will make a difference. Each of the following is a ticket option:
In person, online, make up a table/ corporate table, or support us with your donation.
This year we are proud to announce our speakers are Chef Lillie Giang (The Food Affectionist) and Dr Douglas Hawley and Val Cunniffe (FORaMEAL).
Introducing our first speaker for The Rice Meal, Chef Lillie Giang (The Food Affectionist)
Lillie has an incredible story to share with us during The Rice Meal about her past and her journey which lead her to become an accomplished Chef TV personality and a person who does a great deal for the community
Lillie has volunteered at many events including supporting farmers and local communities affected by drought and bushfires. More recently, Lillie and her team at The Basin Community House have been feeding those affected by the storms, as well as the many volunteers at Kalorama Community Hub. (Search Lillie on Facebook and have a look at fabulous food and generosity!)
By buying a ticket (either in person or online) or making a donation we're able to support many incredible projects like Lillie's.
